Kicked off the work year by spotting a fellow pumper in the coffee shop.  His tubing was sticking out of his pocket, all casual, nothing-to-see-here except for being a beacon for instant connection with another funky pancreas.

We compared diagnoses (“Six years ago, pumping for two years,” he said. “Thirty two years ago, pumping for 14 years,” I said.), compared pumps (his a Medtronic 670G, mine a Tandem t:slim X2), and he acknowledged the work required by longterm diabetes with one sweeping compliment:

“It’s nice to meet you. You look like you have your shit together.”

And there it was; my goal for 2019. To continue to keep my shit together.
