Once again, Instagram has provided a chuckle, some inspiration … and a giveaway.  (There have been a lots of giveaways lately.  Feeling rather elfish.)  Today, I’m very proud to be partnering with Jennifer Stubing and her cross stitch magic at @jenstitcheshere.

Jennifer shared a little bit about her connection to the diabetes community.

“As a runner and a pastry chef, I was eager to find an activity to pursue during my down time which wasn’t physically demanding- preferably while sitting! My aunt, who is an avid cross stitcher, recommended her hobby to me. I started with kits and then began designing my own patterns which led to Instagram and Etsy!”

My older brother was diagnosed with T1D in 2001 and became involved with the community when he started a Beta Cell Podcast and co-founded Type One Run. I attended events with the LA group and and joined them for the Wildflower Triathlon Weekend. After seeing the strength and commitment of the participants, I was inspired to create cross stitch projects to celebrate their stories. The more T1Ds I meet, the more ideas I have!”

I just met Jennifer’s brother, Craig, this past weekend at the SoCal Slipstream and he’s an inspiring, creative guy. Seems like a family trait. 🙂
