INTERNET'D!

The move was epic, with my mother and her husband (bless their hearts) helping us wrangle in our mess of an apartment in Norwalk and cram a UHaul full of our earthy belongings.  My husband drove the truck up 95 north at the breakneck speed of 48 miles per hour (thank you, UHaul, for giving us a truck without the ability to accelerate or maintain normal speeds), and I served as chauffeur for three yowling cats, all lined up in the back of my Honda.

Exhibit A, for "Annoying, Yowling Beasts:"

Three cats is three too many.

We drove for hours.  And then unpacked.  For hours.  With the help of my mom, her husband, two of Chris's friends, and his dad.  Without the help of Siah, who decided last minute to pee in the cat carrier and then roll around in it, forcing me to spend the first fifteen minutes in our new place with her immersed in the bathtub.  (I SO WISH I had a photo of Siah post-bath, because she looked like a moody, gray Stuart Little.  But alas, I couldn't find the camera.)

Moving makes me low.  My two day blood sugar average has plummeted to 80 mg/dl (thanks to many, many 50's that cropped up while we were schlepping boxes), and I've eaten my fair share of these:

Yummy, but not by the dozen.

Our furniture has been delivered, we've unpacked at least our sweatshirt and shoes (still looking for the rest of our clothes, so we're dressed at bit oddly at the moment), and the cable guy came and hooked us back up to the Internet.  (YAY!)  Oh, and I found this pen, which I thought had been lost forever ago, but has since resurfaced in a box marked "SWEATERS:"

This is not a sweater.

I love our new place, we are settling in quickly, I'm exhausted, and I'm excited to move forward and see what's next.

Oh, and Shoes?  I don't miss you one.  freaking.  bit.

Glad you are in the new pad! Glad you found the pen. Glad you had smooshy fruit around to bring you back from a low.

I'm kind of sad we will not hear about "Shoe's" and you will not hear "Shoe's" but my guess is that there will be some other amusing neighbor we will hear about soon!

:)

Moving sucks. I'm glad you had help! :) Poor Siah. She was protesting. And complaining about how bad moving sucks. ;)

What are is your next job and adventure? Insurance I'm sure is a big thing...

Woot! Glad you are in your new place and have access to the wonderful world wide interweb.

No more shoes. Awww, too bad. I will miss those stories. Kidding. :)

Hope you find more than that and sweatshirts.

Moving always makes me low too. Ick.

Congrats and when you can, enjoy every minute of this....

Is that an exposed brick wall? Is that in your new place? It's fabulous, wherever it is.

Cause that is EXACTLY where you would expect to find a boxing frog. In a sweater box.

Why are you surprised?

Smooshed fruit? Wow, you get some of the coolest things.

Get to your new home and what is the first thing you got to do, deal with a pissy cat. (Literly) LMAOROTFBBQ!

Glad your settling in and congrats on the move and the new flight ahead.

I wish you well

Robert

Glad the move is over and that you're getting settled in...

At first I thought the frog had smoooshed fruit on his hands.

The stress of a move is terrible, but the excitement of what's to come, far outshines it. (Although, I'm not sure Siah would agree with me)

I'm so thrilled for you! I can't wait to here what unfolds for you & Chris.

I'm pretty new to this, but with all the anticipated exercise from moving, would decreasing the basal rate on the pump and monitoring on the dexcom have helped. How would others handle this?

ooh, I see brick and big windows! :) sweet!

Shoes always reminded me about the Seanachai's story about the vampire in his attic. http://www.theseanachai.com/2006/11/06/the-vampire-in-my-attic-video/

3? Siah, Abby & ??

Who is the mystery yowling beast?

HAPPY NEW HOME!!!! Oh Siah, peeing and rolling in it? She must have been seriously pissed about the move. (Oohh, I didn't even mean to make a pun - LOL) All of the packing and unpacking does sound low-inducing. Your blood sugar average this week will ROCK!!

Welcome to your new home! Sorry about Siah peeing her, well I can't say pants lol

Where did you get the Popsicles?

Glad things are settling nicely. :)

(Athena peed on Kahlua in the carrier they shared on the way to the vet. Kahlua was pissed about being pissed on.)

Is that seriously your new place? Those windows - that brick?! I am jealous!!!

ha ha ha - your car looks exactly like mine when I did my move from Boston to Richmond a few years back. Only I had a BullMastiff in the back too. I can definitely relate to the howling cats and sustained lows while moving.
