Damien Rice - 9
I listened to his album, O, until I had every subtle sound committed to my heart. Excellent album. It was nearly impossible to tear from my cd player. Fantastic artist. He heals heartaches, evokes poetry, and I'm not altogether unconvinced he can't fly.
Damien Rice has come out with a second album, a huge follow-up to his tremendous debut. Check out this clip from Jay Leno and see for yourself.

Thanks for the tip.
I'm a fan of Damien Rice as well, but it's truly criminal that I don't know the name of the female singer that performs with him (or the cellist for that matter too).
They are such an integral part of his sound, they really should get a more prominent byline.

Donna - Buy it for everyone you know. Fabulous.
Kevin - Lisa Hannigan is the singer. The cellist is Vyvienne Long. I saw them play in Boston two years ago and were absolutely amazing.

Jill - I just came home and am now listening to the new cd. It is incredible. You should drive to work twice tomorrow, just to have more time to enjoy it. ;)
Johnboy - Haven't I mentioned him to you before? In my rash of band recommendations?
Flutter - Do it. Now, if possible. He's someone to take notice of.

Thanks for the tip. Will add it to the list. Was contemplating checking him out at Beacon Theater in NYC next month, though surely it's sold out by now. A great setting for someone of his caliber.
