Too busy to blog?

This week has been a little wacky, starting with last weekend and watching the sun rise on Sunday morning after a long night launching the October issue of EXIST.  I've been crummy with updating the blog. The Experiment Two: Spiders

But, keeping with the theme of exhaustion, I’ll let pictures tell their standard 1,000:

Update on the Stupid Plant:  This thing died.  Died completely.  It was reduced to a compilation of dirt and molding leaves.  So, thanks to a fellow horticulturalist here at dLife, I’m now growing spider plant spawn.  These suckers won’t die, even if you ask them to.

We made it to a Mets game a few days ago, tickets courtesy of Howard at dLife.  Nice perks – excellent seats!  Chris and I had never Shea Stadiumbeen to Shea Stadium before, so it was cool to check out another ballpark, other than Fenway.  (note:  Fenway is far superior to all other stadiums.  Where’s their Monster?  Where's their Yawkey?  Where are their fans puking on Lansdowne?  Yeah, that’s right.)

And this weekend:  A Gomez show at the Bowery in NYC.  (Thanks for the heads up, Johnboy!)  They were phenomenal when we saw them last March in LA at a Virgin Records in-store.  I’m so excited I’m already having trouble sleeping!  Updates on Sunday.

Here’s the little face that greets me every morning, staring at me from about six inches from my nose.  Damn this Sausage.  She makes me uncomfortable sometimes.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

I had to comment on your No Title post. It was amazing. I have had diabetes for a year now and your post moved me so much; it inspired me to try harder, to carry on when it is tough which it is at the moment. You sound like you are doing an amazing job of taking care of yourself and the way you expressed your fear of complications expressed what I feel so much better than what I could ever say. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for the inspiration. It has been a hard year and sometimes I just think, "What's the point anyway?" and you made me see that the point is that I am healthy, that other people are doing it and that we all share a deep terror at complications despite tight control. I test 6 or 7 times a day and I loved that you test 12 days a day, I think I should test more too. It was a great post, I will be reading more of you, thank you, I have been looking for a blog like yours for a while.

Carlynn,

Thanks for stopping by. I left a comment on your blog last week but it hasn't shown up yet! I've added you to my blogroll here.

I'm glad you have enjoyed what you've found here. There are a ton of diabetes bloggers writing about their daily experiences - you are definitely not alone.

I hope you keep reading. :)

You'll love the spider plant. They're so easy! Plus baby plants sprout and you can pluck them off and stick them in the dirt and then they grow!

Have a great weekend too :)

Kerri,

I am so glad that you and Chris went to a Mets game and not a Yankees game (sorry Chris). Fenway will ALWAYS be the greatest ball park ever!

No kidding about the spider plants... my parents received one for a wedding gift in 1974 and we still have plants that spawned from that original! Crazy!

Have a good weekend too Kerri :)

Sorry to hear that Slugger the Peace Lilly died. RIP.

Long live David Bowie and the Spider Plant from Mars.

Let me know if you need any bar/restaurant recommendations. The Bowery is somewhat in my NYU-centered "hood" (though I live in the Financial District).

Again, funny to think of you and your Boy stomping around my stomping ground...

Thank you for your encouragement and for adding me to your blog roll, I am really touched. At the moment my blog is more about my obsession with falling pregnant but reading your blog has inspired me. I feel that I can be ok, that I can struggle but still be me. I'm not expressing it well but just to say, I'll be a regular reader.

My girl cat freaks me out how she looks at me sometimes. It looks as though she is looking right through me like she can see into my head. Weird little thing.

Just wanted to pop visible for a moment to say how much I enjoy your stories.
PS It looks to me like your cat is trying to figure out why you are sleeping with a camera :-)

A baseball stadium better than Wrigley? I doubt it. ;)

Hi Kerri,

Long time since I have said hello. I got a new job with my company - I am so busy now! I hardly have time to log onto the blogs and CWD forums/chat rooms.

Kylee is doing great! Getting ready to go on the PUMP! In fact, I really want to get her that CD by the Pump Girls - she loves to dance and sing!

Your Siah Sausage looks just like my beloved gray cat Sy Russ. I just adored him! He was a pistol too.

Take care Kerri - and thanks again for all you have done!

Donna
