Bullet (Point) Train to CT

Paragraphs?  Can't.  Sorry.

 • We had to make a List of To Do Lists.
 • There are To Do Lists stuck to my closet doors and I take immense pleasure in crossing things off.  "I packed up the DVDs," he yelled from the living room.  My grin is maniacal.  "The list!  Cross it off the list!"
 • (Yes, we wrote things on the list that we had done previously, just so we could cross them off.)
 • The living room looks like the Cardboard Coalition 2006 is holding their annual meeting.  I have made blueberry tea and cucumber sandwiches, in case they show up.
 • I packed every medical supply carefully into a cardboard box as though I were playing Sausage on the Mountain"Perfection."  It was a flawless arrangement until I needed a new box of test strips.  Which were at the bottom of the box.  Under the infusion sets.  Under the reservoirs.  Under the lancets and Novopen needle tips.
 • It's raining.  Come on, Beach Weather!!
 • Stacks of boxes are in the corner of the living room, providing Sausage with a daily mountainous adventure.
 • I miss my friends already.
 • We trekked to CT yesterday, paying a security deposit to turn on the electricity in our condo.  I have never heard of such a thing.  Paying a security deposit for the apartment, sure.  But for the utilities?  Blashphemy.  And of course it wasn't a $50 deposit.  Try eight times that.
 • Clif Energy Bars, though riddled with carbs, are delicious.  I can't lie.  So are the Detour ones.
 • You know what?  Websites don't design themselves. I am learning this the hard way.
 • My gym membership ran up this week.  So I am sneaking into the gym.  Dressed as a ninja.  Very stealth.
 • "The Steel Cage Match for Rights to Fantasize About John Cusack:  Kassie vs. Kerri" will be held in my new living room (if Foxwoods is booked) at a to-be-determined date.  Details on the Pay Per View to come.

Now I can cross "Blog Post" off my list.

How do I know you are tired and maybe even a bit stressed?? decurity deposit....I'm going to miss you so much.

This was a funny post!!

Ah ... very true, Batman. I made a mistake. I'll go fix it now.

And I will miss you, too. Our only consolation is: IKEA!!!

Moving sucks but somehow you make it sound like you are making the best of it!

Good luck.

I have probably 80 lbs and 10 years of Cusack worship on you. I can totally take you.

BRING IT ON

Just saw on Access Hollywood last night that John Cusack has a restraining order out against a woman who claims she's living at Cusack's home address. That isn't either one of you women, right? (I too love the man, btw, but I'm not a stalker....)

Actually, that's why I am moving... something about him not wanting to have to go through my mail all the time. I don't know.

BTW: I love Access Hollywood. And Entertainment Tonight. And the theme music associated with both.

All I can say is LOL. This post was very funny on exactly the day I needed it. Thanks Kerri !!

I miss the east coast sometimes, I moved away from CT about 8 months ago to San Francisco. I have yet to find a good grinder here. Which for those who don't know is basically a sub, or hoggie but cooked in a pizza oven. The bread is usually a little wider and the best grinders come from the greek pizza places (whose extra saucy, medium thick buttery crisp crust, square cut pizza is to die for).

Sausage looks like he's about to jump down and attack the hell out of you.

I'm a lesbian and I fantasize about John Cusack. I think I win.

Cats are so helpful in the whole packing & moving process. So very helpful indeed.

Who doesn't fantasize about John Cusack? I mean, really. Lloyd Dobler? Martin Blank? C'maaaan.

Funny post, Kerri. :D

I don't see birthday greetings to Mr. Cusack in either of your blogs....ahem.

I'm an endless listmaker. I bow to your proficiency. CT is a different world indeed. I had never heard of paying to go to a beach until I moved here. Security deposit on utilities? Bah humbug!

Your power company wouldn't accept a letter of credit from your current utility company? That's rotten!

Belated congratulations on the job and move. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity and I hope it brings you much happiness.

Love this post!

And I am totally tossing my hat into this big 'ol ring of John Cusack love...

Oh, and hey-- so I'm trying to catch up on my d-blog reading, and come to find out a whole boatload of stuff happened while I was away-- including the announcement of your VERY exciting move and new job...

Congratulations, Kerri!!

What an exciting new adventure-- can't tell you how happy I am for you.

This is just too awesome.

I think my husband loves John Cusack even more than I do...so ok with me!
I have a list of my own Kerri...'Things to look for at IKEA'. I'm waiting for you.....

Please feel free to link me!! Thanks for the welcoming comment!

I am headed for a big move soon, reading this makes me feel a little better! I KNOW my needed item will be stuck at the bottom of a box now, and I am ready! Best of luck.

Great post. It made me laugh.
